A blocked drain emergency in Camperdown
Sheila lived with her three young children in Camperdown. She was a single working mother, which meant she dealt with a bucketful of problems on a daily basis.
Her children were bright, young and curious. She was not a hands-on person and if something in her home broke down or stopped working, she needed the tradesmen to come and help her out.
So, one evening, about a week after she had bought a brand new washing machine, the water stopped draining from the machine. At first, Sheila did not know what had happened. She thought the wash cycle was over. Luckily, she had peered in the door before she opened it and had seen the suds.
At first, she thought the problem was with her washing machine. But, when she removed the machine’s drain pipe and poured some water down the drain, she saw that the water was not going down. Sheila dialed the number of an expert plumber in Camperdown who specialised in sewer and drain blockages. From what she had been told, these people took care of plumbing problems in Annandale, Glebe, Newtown, Redfern and the enire Inner West!
After talking to the block drain plumber over the phone, Sheila began to feel that she had found the plumber she was looking for.
Two hours later, the plumber from Camperdown was in her bathroom, exploring the blocked drain problem. He found the blocked drain was actually cause by tree roots in the drain pipes and this couldn’t be removed with drain cleaning equipment. It would need to be dug up and a small section of sewer line replaced.
He excavated the sewer line and repaired the drainage line with new PVC pipe. He showed Sheila the piece of broken pipe with the root still stuck in it, it was quite a big root, no wonder she was having drain issues!
Now the sewer line has been replaced the blocked drain plumber from Camperdown informed her that she shouldn’t have any further issues with the drainage lines.
